It took me a while to figure out that this film was supposed to be about the Vietnam war. I mean, there were no clues. The setting is your average forest, and NOT an exotic jungle. The enemies wore clean bright clothing. So much for camouflaging between the trees. And speaking of enemies, a group of American soldiers must not only face Vietnamese in shiny threads, but also dubious soldiers with painted blue faces speaking Australian. Then there was talk of finding The General. Not sure if they ever did because it was somewhat hard to see through countless explosions and endless shooting. What I could gather was some extremely low budget cheese wrapped in two-fisted old school type of action: Sgt. Holt who sucker punched about anyone who crossed his path. That was funny. What really cracked me up was the music which was not matching the onscreen action at all. Sounded like a distorted instrumental version of Wham's Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go. Other than that you will get Mr. Maniac himself, Joe Spinell - but he can only be seen for about three minutes tops.
From the makers of KILLER WORKOUT and DEADLY PREY. Not their best effort but it won't hurt to watch once.
